Turning newspaper into eco‑friendly art
Neelu Patel is a trendsetter crafting marvelous paper‑mache and collage artwork from used newspaper — recognized with felicitations from the Government of Gujarat and a national award from the Government of India.
Five collections, one craft
Every piece starts as newspaper, then becomes something else entirely — a mask, a wall of mud art, a painting, a wearable, a sculpture.
Paper, reimagined
With an inclination towards environmental preservation, Neelu was among the first artists of her kind to show that art itself can be an eco‑friendly practice — blending color, texture, and salvaged newspaper into pieces exhibited across India and internationally.

Paper Mache Art
Sculptural pieces crafted entirely from recycled newspaper.

Paper Collage
Layered collage work exploring color blending and texture.

Exhibitions
Shown at galleries and exhibitions across India, the UK, and beyond.

From wall art to life‑size sculpture
Most of Neelu's work is intimate — masks, pendants, wall panels. But the same technique scales all the way up: this life‑size paper mache cow, built entirely from layered newspaper, shows just how far the craft can go.
See this pieceNeelu's portfolio of work is truly remarkable. Some of her work also includes using paper materials and transforming them into art. These materials would have otherwise been scrapped, so it is truly incredible to see them used so positively, artistically.
